  • The Issue (Incarceration vs. Rehabilitation)

The loss of a child is a devastating event that impacts not only the immediate family but also the entire community. By opting for incarceration, the justice system can convey the gravity of the offense and emphasize the importance of personal accountability. This approach serves as a stark reminder to the community that actions resulting in the loss of innocent lives will be met with severe consequences, fostering a stronger deterrent against similar acts in the future. The message sent by incarceration underscores the value society places on protecting its most vulnerable members and reinforces the need for responsible and safe behavior.

Why We Need Your Help & Support

The man who hit and killed Ace had a blood alcohol level of 3 times the legal limit, he fled the scene, he is a repeat offender with multiple DUIs in the past and he was texting when he ran the stop sign where he ultimately ended Ace's life. Receiving the unwavering support of our community for Ace is of utmost importance to ensure that his untimely death serves as a constant reminder to all. By showing up in solidarity at the courthouse, we send a powerful message to the judge and the media that we, as a community, do not tolerate or abide by such irresponsible behavior. Our presence demonstrates that we stand united against the devastating consequences of drunk and distracted driving. It showcases our commitment to seeking justice for Ace and holding individuals accountable for their actions. Together, we can create a lasting impact and work towards a safer future, where no more lives are lost due to preventable and reckless actions on the road.

  • Acey Boy

    broken image

Acestyn James Butterfus, a bright and joyful 7-year-old boy, left an everlasting impact on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. With his infectious smile, adorable dimples, and big brown eyes, Ace had a way of lighting up any room he entered. His sweet heart and genuine kindness touched the lives of everyone he encountered, as he made it a point to highlight the beauty and goodness in others.

Ace had an adventurous spirit that was contagious. He approached life with a zest for fun and was always ready to embark on new adventures. Whether it was exploring the outdoors, playing games with friends, or simply finding joy in the little things, Ace had an uncanny ability to infuse every moment with laughter and excitement.

Tragically, Ace was taken from us far too soon, leaving behind an indescribable void in our hearts. The pain of his absence is immeasurable, and the memories we shared with him will forever be cherished. Although his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will continue to live on through the hearts of those who loved him.

Ace's legacy serves as a reminder of the power of love, kindness, and the importance of cherishing every moment with our loved ones. His infectious joy and unwavering positivity will forever inspire us to embrace life with the same enthusiasm and to spread kindness wherever we go.

In this time of profound grief, we find solace in the memories we shared with Ace. We remember his laughter, his curiosity, and the way he made us feel loved and appreciated. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful soul that he was and the impact he had on our lives.

Ace, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

  • The Story

Ace was hit and killed by a man that FLED THE SCENE, had a blood alcohol content of 3 TIMES THE LEGAL LIMIT, has MULTIPLE DUI's in the past, and was TEXTING when he RAN THE STOP sign where he ultimately took Ace's life. We ask you to please #ShowUpForAce on April 11th @ 10AM at the St. George Courthouse (206 W. Tabernacle St., St. George, UT 84770) wearing ORANGE in Ace's honor.

The defendant is most likely looking at 3-4 years in jail and most likely out in 1 YEAR for good behavior. Showing Up For Ace will show the judge and the community that we will not accept this irresponsible behavior. No amount of time for his sentence will bring Ace back to us, but we can use this opportunity to be advocates for all of the innocent people on our roads in our community and for all of the other victims that have fallen to drunk driving that don't have a voice.
